4th of July and Bloody Thursday 2026

Saturday, July 4th is the Independence Day holiday & Sunday, July 5th is Bloody Thursday.  It is recommended that you check the terminals’ web sites for their gate schedules during the holiday weekend.

PMA has advised that “Saturday, July 4, 2026, is a holiday and a normal workday under the various ILWU/PMA Agreements. All ILWU Longshore, Foremen, and Marine Clerk Locals in Southern California will be available for work. Since Independence Day, July 4, falls on a Saturday this year, under Section 5.21 of the Agreement the following Monday, July 6, is an overtime day and a normal workday. Sunday, July 5, 2026, Bloody Thursday, is a no-work holiday.”

PierPASS & PortCheck customers who plan to move containers over the holiday weekend should ensure that containers are properly claimed during business hours on Friday, July 3rd to avoid any delays.  If you have questions regarding claiming, please contact the Customer Service Center at 877-863-3310.
